Needs: INT DL, S Pressing: INT DL
Draft Picks:
Round 2 - (58) Trysten Hill DT / UCF
Round 3 - (90) Connor McGovern OG / Penn State
Round 4 - (128) Tony Pollard RB / Memphis
Round 5 - (From OAK) (158) Michael Jackson CB / Miami
Round 5 - (165) Joe Jackson DE / Miami
Round 6 - (From OAK) (213) Donovan Wilson S / Texas A&M
Round 7 - (From OAK) (218) Mike Weber RB / Ohio State
Round 7 - (241) Jalen Jelks DE / Oregon
Grade: 81
Best Value: Mike Weber RB / Ohio State
This was a decent haul for a team that didn't really have a 1st round draft pick (that is if you don't count the Cowboys trading it for WR Amari Cooper). I believe they could've and should've traded back from 58th overall, picked up some more picks and still gotten DT Trysten Hill. Connor McGovern is an versatile offensive lineman who can pretty much play anywhere upfront, although I believe the Cowboys see him as an insurance policy in case starting center Travis Frederick is not ready to start the season due to Guillain-Barré syndrome. The Cowboys also addressed a glaring need at running back. While Ezekiel Elliot is dominant when he is on the field, he is eventually going to need a breather. Mike Weber is more of a between the tackles runner, Tony Pollard is more of a gadget player who will return kicks, punts, catch passes out of the backfield, and maybe even play slot receiver. The Cowboys waited till the 6th round to address their other glaring need at safety. Donovan Wilson is a player maker on the back end, and is a great blitzer and tackler. He'll probably need time to adjust to NFL speed, as he had issues getting beat deep in college.

Best Value: Deandre Baker CB / Georgia
The Giants were the talk of the first round as they selected Daniel Jones 6th overall. Many experts had Jones being selected anywhere from late first round to anywhere in the fourth round. Nothing about Jones' film sticks out as outstanding, but then again nothing is terrible. I believe the Giants could've taken Josh Allen at 6th overall and gotten a pass rusher which the desperately need, then still drafted Daniel Jones at 17th overall. Dexter Lawrence should be able to step in immediately and help a Giants' defense that placed 20th against the run last season. Deandre Baker was the Giants' best draft pick. They got him for excellent value at the end of the 1st round. A late pick I love for the Giants was former Auburn WR Darius Slayton. Slayton will have to fine tune his short and intermediate route running to play at the next level, but his explosiveness is what the Giants were looking for in the 5th round.

It's hard to have a great draft when you only make 5 selections. With that being said, the first three picks are very solid here for the Eagles. Andre Dillard is an elite pass blocking tackle and was drafted to be the heir to Jason Peters at left tackle. Miles Sanders is an underrated running back who was stuck behind Saquan Barkley at Penn State until this past season. He'll probably have to split starting reps with Jordan Howard for the foreseeable future, overall good pick. JJ Arcega-Whiteside is a physical receiver that does a good job boxing out corners on jump balls and attacking the ball in the air, he might just posses the best hands in this draft. Although they did not address a pressing need in their secondary.

Redskins GM Scot McCloughan killed it this year. He didn't panic and trade up for a QB, they stayed patient and got the guy they wanted in Dwayne Haskins. Then taking advantage of knowing the Colts wanted to trade out of the 1st round, the Redskins moved up and nabbed the falling edge rusher Montez Sweat. Sweat will help a front 7 that lost one of their top pass rushers in Preston Smith to free agency. Another pick I love was former Heisman finalist Bryce Love in the 4th round. Most teams are splitting their running back duties amongst two or three backs, and pairing Derrius Guice with Bryce Love sounds good to Washington. A good late round pick for the Redskins was center Ross Pierschbacher. Pierschbacher was literally the center piece of an offensive line that has played in the past 4 CFP Championships.
